FDL’s response to COVID19

02 April 20: FDL will go ahead this summer. Plans for virtual participation and processes have advanced significantly including how we forge challenges, select teams and manage engagement through the sprint. The most likely amendments to the way we will work include:

  1. Scoping challenges with more focused outcome definition

  2. Provision of more explicitly defined progress way-points

  3. Establishing routines, trust and cohesion

  4. Supporting high functioning team best practices

  5. Alignment around FDL-standard collaboration tools

We hope to ‘see’ you in the summer. Researcher Applications close Tuesday 14 April 2020.

20 March 2020: FDL is continuing to monitor and respond to WHO advice on travel and social distancing. We are putting in place contingency processes as limits on gatherings and extended face to face contact are likely to remain in place up to and over the period of FDL (22 June – 14 August 2020). We expect FDL to go ahead this summer but will be tailoring FDL’s process to support virtual participation. We hope to ‘see’ you at the research spring.

Applications close Tuesday 14 April 2020.

Please visit the WHO website or the website of the relevant authority in your country for up-to-date information on COVID-19 and general recommendations to reduce exposure and transmission.

11 March 2020: We are watching the situation and following World Health Organisation advice closely. We are putting in place contingency processes and plans in the event of continuing limits on local and international travel. We expect FDL to go ahead this summer but will be tailoring our processes, location and working methods (including virtual participation) as needed to safeguard everyone joining us.
